What have we been up to in 2023?
It’s been another busy year for The NX Group and as 2023 comes to an end, we take a look at some of our highlights for over the last year.
Q1: Starting our 2023 NX Journey
History seemed to repeat itself at the beginning of the year, with a similar recurrence to the huge increase in stock holding requirements seen in 2022. NX dealt with an influx of stock from key customers suddenly released from the huge hikes in international shipping costs which had been felt throughout 2021 and 2022, with stock flowing in from some customers at significant levels.
The clamour for more space, although a little more subdued than that of 2022, was happening once again! Expanding walls would have been a fantastic invention at this point!
The still, slightly murky waters of the post covid world, customer forecasts and required flexibility really brought NX to the fore; and we worked hard to help all of our customers through a difficult period.
Our MD, Neil Powell kicked off the year and the company’s charity fundraising efforts by raising almost £3,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). He took on the charity’s 15,000 steps a day in January challenge and smashed it!
In March, we celebrated International Women’s Day and our team of fabulous females shared their top tips for other women looking to get into the transport and logistics industry.
Q2: Driving NX Forward
Lack of clarity is perhaps how you might describe the first half of 2023: E-commerce was unknown; forecasts far from accurate; and orders were lower than expected after the huge increases of the covid period, where the world of online sales and their logistics partners made hay, even when the sun wasn’t shining!
However, as is our world and that of the logistics industry, The NX Group remained flexible to meet the requirements of our customers and pushed through with an eye on the future.
We commissioned some up to date photography to be taken, to allow us to really showcase our dedicated fleet of liveried vehicles. You will see lots of these stylish new images across our new website, social channels and in our marketing.
In June, we proudly sponsored one of our drivers who took on the ‘5 Capitals Tour’ – a fundraising and awareness campaign for the Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes (WSBB). The tour saw the riders tackle all five UK and Ireland capital cities over two days and cover over 1,000 miles on the road.
Q3: Delivering NX’s Superb Summer Service
During the third quarter of the year we expanded our fleet with additional vehicles in order to meet increased customer demand. Our dedicated fleet, with enhanced security measures, allows us to continue to provide our secure Closed Network service, specialising in timed deliveries throughout the UK.
In August, we once again secured our Leicester City executive box. Offering an enhanced matchday experience we have entertained a number of customers, suppliers and invited guests in our exclusive hospitality space.
September saw our exciting new website securely delivered. After months of hard work behind the scenes, we developed our new website to allow visitors the best possible user experience. The new site includes some amazing new photos, updated information on our services, quick access to our customer portal and a sleek modern design with navigation that makes it even easier to find out what you want to know about The NX Group. Q4: Navigating the Peak Festive Season
In November, we took part in Brake’s Road Safety Week and shared our commitment to making the roads a safer place for our drivers and the community.
Proud of our highly secure fleet of branded vehicles, we launched our Lorry Spot competition across our social channels. Spot one of our vehicles on the road and send us a picture to be in with the chance of winning a prize.
October & November was once again an extremely busy period as customers prepared for Black Friday and the festive rush. With many of our pallets being delivered to retailers on behalf of our various clients, a second rush was felt during the lead up to the 24th of November significantly increasing the workload across the entire team. Additionally, the number of clients we provide e-commerce services to has increased, which brings a whole new set of dynamic challenges in itself. However, our team of experienced e-commerce processors were fully prepared to ensure we were able to fulfil the demand.
Keeping up to date with technology and security measures across our facilities and fleet ensures we’re well-prepared for the additional demand around the festive period and these spikes of activity.
We finished off the year with a Christmas party at The Mercure Daventry Court Hotel where everyone got the chance to relax and enjoy some festive merriment!

We have welcomed several new employees to the NX team throughout the year. Our continued commitment to the ongoing support and development of our employees’ careers has seen many of our team taking on and completing various training and development courses. These include:

Gearing Up for 2024
