Warehouse Solution for stockpiling
Recent articles have reported industries are stockpiling goods, such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverages, to cover manufacturing and production in the short-term prior to March 2019, and up to six months after the UK leaves the EU. Reports indicate that businesses would benefit from utilising existing warehouse spaces rather than investing in building additional warehouses for this purpose, searching for spaces via market listings and direct contact with warehouse and logistics firms.
How can we help? Our solutions for these industries include warehouse space available for projects like these. Our facilities offer a short-term storage solution in the interim for additional stock, goods and ingredients coming in. We also provide warehouse solutions for long-term contracts, with the added benefit to our customers of our distribution services.
Our EU customers trust us to deliver their goods, carrying out the ‘final mile’ throughout the UK. Our customers deliver to one central UK hub for a quick turnaround before heading back to the EU, benefiting from working with us as their UK partner. The process provides a quicker delivery within the UK, along with the added benefit of our experience and knowledge of UK deliveries.
So far, we’ve seen very little change for our EU customers, however we expect the most significant changes after March 2019 will be around border controls at the tunnel and ports.
Reports indicate that UK-based eCommerce companies are looking to stay firmly on home ground, with an expected increase in demand for warehouse space as the trend of eCommerce sales continues to grow. Coupled with a shortage of warehouse spaces, eCommerce operations are looking to arrange contracts with their warehouse partner to cover the next few years and any changes which may come into effect once the UK leaves the EU.
